Contents: Cochrane Singapore and SCRI present a two-day course on the systematic review of interventional studies & a two-day course on network meta analysis (NMA).
The two-day Basic Workshop provides the essential guidance of entire systematic review process, referring to the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. It covers the topics on developing a focused question (PICO method) and effective literature search strategy, assessing risk of bias of studies, conducting meta-analysis using Review Manager and understanding the results (e.g. forest and funnel plots) and heterogeneity.
Prerequisite for NMA Workshop: Should have attended the “Basic Systematic Review & Meta-analysis Workshop” or have basic knowledge of meta-analysis and the RevMan software. The two-day NMA Workshop is a mixture of lectures and practical work. NMA is an extension of direct pair-wise meta-analysis, which synthesizes evidence from both direct and indirect comparisons to estimate and rank clinical effectiveness of three or more interventions. Methods for data-entry, analysis, managing heterogeneity, interpretation and presentation of the results will be covered.
